If you need to lose weight...

"The summer before I got married in 1993 I walked with this music on audio cassette. Of course I achieved my weight loss goals and had a perfect wedding day. Now, 12 years and two kids later I have a lot of weight to lose and I'm turning to Leslie again.

The music is great. After 12 years it's still fresh and inspiring. There aren't distracting lyrics, just energizing tunes to set the pace. Walking is a fantastic exercise. Any athlete will tell you that. Once your body can't handle the impact of running, walking works just as well IF you keep up the pace. Thank goodness for this tape because you'll DROP THE WEIGHT and have lots of fun along the way...!"
Not exactly what I was looking for, but beneficial just the

"The first walking CD I purchased was a complete gamble, as I bought it at a book store and I wasn't able to listen to it before I purchased it. The one I purchased was Debbie Rocker's Walking intermediate level CD. In that CD, she guided me practically every step of the way giving me instruction on proper form as well as motivation along the way. I loved it! She believes in interval training, where upon she guides your heart rate up and down so that you get a more efficient workout as opposed to working harder and harder. I loved it so much that I was afraid I was going to get bored with it. Thus, I started my quest for a collection of walking CD's. Although I had never heard of Leslie Sansone, her reviews were very well read. In much anticipation, my new CD arrived, and I loaded it onto my MP3 player eagerly anticipating an exciting new walking workout.

This particular CD consists of Leslie Sansone guiding you through several levels of ever-increasing paces of music. She begins each level with a brief sentence or two, in which she guides you to the beat, "one, two, three, four," etc. Then she fades away as the music takes over. Personally, I found the music boring, but it did have a strong beat so that I was able to walk to the pace quite easily. Each level gradually picks up speed, so that at the end of the workout, you're going at a pretty fast pace. Then at the end, after the cool down, she talks in greater length about the benefits of exercise, stating it's the most important thing you can do to maintain good health and weight loss.

I've only given this CD four stars because it didn't meet up to my expectations. I really wanted an instructor guiding me through the workout, with interval training being the preferred method of choice. This CD will give you an instructor who cues your steps to match the beat of the music for a few seconds and then leaves you on your own until the music changes, at which point she'll briefly cue you again.

If you're looking for a CD that provides music for you to walk to with limited instruction, this CD is a great option, especially for those who exercise on treadmills."
