CD Reviews

This CD leads you into an awesome worship experience!
Superwoman | San Diego, CA United States | 12/12/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I love praise and worship music that leads me into a closer love relationship with the Lord. This CD does that. I read all the reviews and kept hearing good things about Kurt Carr's "One Church" on BET, but it took me awhile to listen to some samples on Amazon.com and finally buy the CD. What took me so long?! From the introductory chords to the very last song, I felt the anointing of the Holy Spirit on this project. It has been the only P&W CD I've played since I got it a few weeks ago and each time I hear it, it lifts me anew. I have any number of "favorite" songs on it, depending on the day and what spiritual need I have at the time. I rate this an A+++ for spiritual worship alongside Donnie McClurkin's "Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs.""
A Radio Announcer's Dream

"Kurt Carr has stepped out of the shadow of Kirk Franklin (who is also on GospoCentric) to become the premiere Gospel recording artiste of the last ten years. His music has now become a standard for worship leaders and gospel announcers. This album is a must have if you are buying music right now. The music is fresh and exciting, the singing is great or even excellent, the writing is anointed and the diversity is stupendous. Kurt Carr & the Kurt Carr Singers are the best gospel group around today. No doubt! The requests on my show come in for "Something Happens" and the remix of "The presence of the Lord is here" and the profound "One Word". I play every single track on the radio, they are all good. Big up Kurt!"
This Album Deserves An Extra Star!!!!

"This album should have six stars. I used to go to work early in the morning (2:30 am) about an hour away from home, so having a CD that you can drive to work on was essential to my commute. This was the only CD that I debuted on the drive that didn't force me to change it to a mix to stay awake. This album grabbed me from its first play and it only seems to get better. It is truly an amazing experience. The first eleven tracks of this CD (ELEVEN!!!) flow extremely well into one another and almost every song is superlative. Before this album I never bought anything by Kurt Carr, although I've been a participant in many Praise & Worship (P&W) experiences where his songs have been used. I always thought his stuff was a little fast and edgy for me or kinda corny. This CD does not have that problem. In fact, every song on the CD flows so well that only "Be Grateful" and "They Didn't Know" seem out of place, only because the first sounded a little awkward in his style and the latter kind of ends this energetic CD with a track that has lethargic verses. "They Didn't Know" is beautifully performed and it does end well, but using it as a bookend to a CD that exudes P&W energy just makes the end seem wrong. This hurts the driveability of the CD, but that is not a reason to miss out on this gift. If you like gospel that is done well, GET THIS CD!!!! (I am shouting at you!) You'll be happy you did."
