CD Reviews

Not what I was expecting. .
D. Roundsley | SF BAY AREA, CA USA | 09/24/2002
(1 out of 5 stars)

"I want to qualify this review by stating that I LOVED "World of Tomorrow". . I also understand an artist needing to evolve, however this sounds like a backwards slide. There is barely a "blip" of a melody here. . I kept waiting for the CD to begin. It didn't , it merely sounds like they turned the machines on to adjust levels. . .if thier first CD was "the World of Tomorrow" then this second disc is more "2001 B.C.". . primitive electronics searching for a song. Try Ladytron's "Light & Magic", more what a sophmore effort should be."
What happened???

"Their first album was simply amazing. This album however goes in a completely different direction. I probably wouldn't have even given this album a chance if it wasn't the same Komputer that gave us "World of Tomorrow". I don't know where all the sounds and instruments they used on their first album went, but they weren't used here. Maybe their equipment was stolen?? This album isn't horrible and does have some creative moments. I understand expanding as an artist, but I think completely abondoning the style that you had leaves the people who truely loved your music dissapointed. I hope one day they read this and go back to their original style. Even if they hate being called Kraftwerk clones, because at least we loved the music. Buy "The World of Tomorrow", it beats this predominately redundant album."
Komputer's "market led" Is Brilliant!!!

"At first I felt disappointed that "market led" lacked the commercial appeal of "world of tomorrow". "market led" was a bit of a risk to produce, and well worth it! "market led" is one of the best electronic albums ever produced, and as good, tho less abrasive, as "mystic moog orchestra". If you appreciate originality, you'll like this album. (Originality was what "world of tomorrow" lacked, though it did exude with commercial poppy.)"
