Synopsis

Product Description
Acclaimed Producer, artist, and first ever rock/hip hop star to sign with urban music empire Cash Money, Kevin Rudolf is readying his eagerly awaited sophomore album, To The Sky, for a June 15th, release. The much anticipated follow-up to his top-charting debut album, 2008's In The City, the first single from his new album, the inspiring anthem "I Made It (Cash Money Heroes)," featuring label mates, Lil Wayne, Birdman and best-selling, triple-platinum hit-maker, Jay Sean has also proven to be a more-than-worthysequel to his multi-platinum global debut single "Let it Rock," which became the 4 million selling rock-meets-hip hop smash of 2008-2009. "I Made It (Cash Money Heroes)" has already soared to the Top 20 of both the Billboard Hot 100 and itunes - with over 800k in digital sales-- becoming the official theme song for Entertainment powerhouse WWE's Wrestlemania XXIV, which stormed pay-per-view platforms at the end of March. But the raved-about inaugural single (`the track is blazing...' wrote US magazine) is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the cool cadre of hits and featured artists Kevin has assembled for his return bash this time around. Stellar songs on To The Sky include "Whatchu Waiting For," featuring Three6 Mafia, "You Make The Rain Fall," featuring Flo Rida, and a special appearance by accomplished rocker and Weezer co-founder Rivers Cuomo on "Must Be Dreamin'." "Kevin has made a great sophomore album that celebrates the power and diversity of the Cash Money dream," states Ronald `Slim' Williams, Co-founder and Co-CEO, along with his brother Bryan `Baby' Williams, of Cash Money Records. "His multiple talents are on full display on his new album To The Sky, with the entire Cash Money team behind him." The amazing production talents of Kevin Rudolf are indeed apparent from start to finish on the new album. The hard working artist/producer combines genres and knocks down pre-conceived notions about mixing musical flavors, as he does on his riveting new single, delivering his signature power-punch on every song. Experimenting with various sounds and genres since his early New York City production days, his ear for seamlessly blending rock, pop and hip hop has never been sharper. Toting a production resume that includes notches with Black Eyed Peas, Leona Lewis, Weezer, Cobra Starship, and others, it wasn't until he moved to Miami in 2008, the new home to Cash Money Records, where his work as a solo artist was heard by its label head, Slim, and soon brought to a wider audience. Thanks to a ground breaking record deal, and 4 million single sales later via his blistering hook-up with Cash Money powerhouse Lil Wayne on "Let It Rock," Kevin was acclaimed by critics as music's new rock/urban impresario, with Entertainment Weekly calling his Cash Money launch an 'infectious debut that mixes his rap-track know-how with his love of guitar-god theatrics,' and People Magazine praising his album In The City as 'a place where rock coexists with dance, pop, intermingling with hip hop.' The song and album emerged as a multi-genre phenomenon, becoming the top selling Universal Music Group digital single, logging millions of downloads on iTunes, and launching the star on arena-style sold-out tours to deliver his monumental new sound live. The popular video, featuring hip hop superstar Lil Wayne and directed by Justin Francis, (Eminem, Alicia Keys, 50 Cent,) passed the 3.5 million views milestone on youtube. Kevin has released a much-buzzed about new video for "I Made It (Cash Money Heroes)," featuring Cash Money icons such as Birdman, Lil Wayne, and Jay Sean, which lays the foundation for many of the themes on the tenacious To The Sky album. "The reason I wrote the song is to let fans know I started from nothing and built my dream from scratch," says Kevin. "That story also rings true for Cash Money and all its founders and stars. I think it's important for fans to know dreams do come true if you work hard and don't let anything stand in your way." Armed with a powerful new album, Kevin is ready to ink the next chapter of his incredible story.

CD Reviews

Sounds like a Disney album
Jason Cleveland | 07/07/2010

"I liked his first album and I collect all Cash Money record albums no matter how wack they are. This is the worse cd in my whole collection dude sounds like a mix of Black eye Peas and Hannah Montana. This album as a whole sounds like a very bad N Sync come back album. I am very very dissapointed I expected far better. His first album was pretty good so go get that one. The only song I like on here is "Big Tmer" It sounds alot like the first cd."
