CD Reviews

A collocation of their work
John O'hara | 11/13/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"If your just being introduced to Juno Reactor, via The Matrix, then this is a great album to glance into their original work. This cd compiles the best tracks of their previous albums to create an overall magnificent piece of techno. Like most techno, Juno Reactor is a style in its own. But if i were to classify it, it would fall into the emerging genre known as aggresive techno/goa/trance. This new style is appropriately christened for its ability to give the listener a huge adrenaline surge. i usually listen to this to keep me running.
high energy protons- a solid classic, uses a line from 2001: space odyssey, hence the title of the album i suppose
laughing gas- a great track filled with backround sounds that remind me of a factory gone mad
rotorblade- not one of their best tracks, but still good. probably better for the laser tag player out on a "hunt"
feel the universe- same as above, more enjoyable at the end of the track
god is god- a very good one, reminds me of cadence in a desert for some reason
conga fury- very conga like indeed, also played in The Animatrix in a dojo scene
komit- sounds like it should be in a horror flic
pistolero- one of their more popular tracks, not my personal fav, but is good at sounding like a techno remix of cowboys and such
hule lam- blah, sorry this is the only thing sour about the album
masters of the universe- exactly that! another one that appeared in The Animatrix
hotaka- i dont know what that word means, but this is Juno Reactors greatest work"
