Jon Faddis is a great trumpet player

"I just bought this CD and enjoyed all the tunes. After buying the CD I attended a trumpet clinic he gave at Scottsdale Community College, Scottsdale, Arizona. The following night I attended the concert with jazz ensembles he was featured with. He is the most powerful and versatile jazz trumpet I have ever heard. His intonation is great, exceptionally beautiful tone, incredible technique and his ability to play with total control in the upper register is the best I have ever heard.He plays with exceptional control with a wide range. He has great musical ideas in his improvisations. I highly recommend this album especially for people who enjoy hearing trumpet solos."

"This CD is yet more proof of why Jon Faddis is probably the greatest jazz trumpet player on the scene today. While certainly not a household name, Faddis is unquestionably revered by fellow musicians, especially trumpeters as being world-class. Musicians dig chops, and Jon has got chops. Not just for his other-worldly high-note work, but also for great improvisiation, be it super-fast be-bop, or mellow ballads."
