CD ReviewsLove the pilot! James Simon | New York, NY USA | 07/02/2004 (4 out of 5 stars) "This is a much forgotten album from the 80's. Astley, who is better known as a producer who remastered all the albums for the Who, put out this terrific catchy album full of paraniod feelings of love and angst. "The Emperor" and "Better Never Than Late" shows his fear written with a great sense of humor. Give it a listen and pick up this gem." Overlooked, but still a little gem NYC? Yep, NYC | New York, NY USA | 09/27/2005 (4 out of 5 stars) "Everyone knows about Astley's skill as a producer, but his personal music went largely overlooked. I heard "Jane's getting serious" on alternative rock stations, and it had a bit of airplay, but the rest of the album went ignored. Big mistake. He writes modestly intelligent rock, and has a way with a catchy bit of rhythm guitar and keyboards. The beats are always just a bit different than what you would expect, and are very hypnotic. Worth a listen... There are a few cuts that are marginal, but "Jane", and "Target Practise" and "Better Never than Late" are good tunes. "Jane" is particularly good, and deserved the airplay it got." Love it! NYC? Yep, NYC | 01/16/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "I love all the songs on this album. Yes, I am an 80's brat. Yes, I own the vinyl. I was thrilled to update my album to the CD. It is mellow, 80's sounding, and new wave."
