Synopsis

Album Description
The beautiful companion music to best selling Native American author Jamie Sams SACRED PATH CARDS,was created by John York, singer/songwriter/guitarist and former member of the BYRDS, to pay homage to the special power of Native American spirituality. York has successfully found a way to communicate his personal approach to this mystic world into something universal, via a truly moving musical soundtrack, for the most part without the necessity of words. Aside from the invocation spoken by Jamie Sams that opens the album, several Native American chants, and the haunting JUST ONE ARROW, a song written and sung by York that is reminiscent of material that the BYRDS might have recorded which closes it, this world class musician weaves his magic with mostly instrumental tracks. He uses Native American instruments to help bridge the worlds of ancient Native American wisdom and modern Western Civilization in this fascinating musical look at a philosophy that centers around the oneness of all creatures with Mother Nature. Available now for the first time on Compact Disc.

CD Reviews

Very Earthy

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I love this CD! The drumming, rattles, guitar, flute and singing and so wonderful, crisp, clean music. Every song is good, relaxing, melodic. Its a little new age-ish in that some of the sounds are etherial sounding in combination with the traditional native american music sounds - this sort of sound helps make this cd so special and makes it so relaxing to listen to."
