CD ReviewsSousa Was THE March King A. Burnor | 08/13/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "Being a big Sousa fan, I bought all four CDs in this series performed by the U.S. Marine Band. All in all this is a very comprehensive collection from an American icon (or should I say two American icons?). The overall quality of the recording as well as of the musicians is superb. No wonder the U.S. Marine Band is "The President's Own". Stirring stuff, indeed! I was amazed at the number of marches that were included that I had never heard before. Especially interesting and historically significant is the inclusion of selections recorded in the 1890s by John Phillip Sousa and his concert band. This series is well worth the price for band nerds like me."
