CD Reviews

Gem of an album
V. Oh | 02/17/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Joanna Ampil transfers her silvery voice from the theatre to the CD with little loss of quality and impact. I did not expect her to nail the songs from Phantom of the Opera but nail them she did and more. She is truly a huge talent (I rate her more highly than Lea Salonga) and this album proves her range, both vocally and emotionally. A must have for any musical theatre buff."
Musical Perfection!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I do have a complaint and that is that we have had to wait far too long for Joanna Ampil's first solo album. But goodness, the wait has been worth it! I first heard Joanna's quite literally amazing voice when she was just a teenager as the lead in Miss Saigon. One could not help but be blown away by the sheer power and beauty of her voice that was made for musical theatre and I cannot believe that her voice is even more beautiful now. Her debut album showcases her talent seemlessly with a well chosen selection of songs from her West End shows that will more than satisfy the biggest of musical fans.

Miss Ampil is a true star in every word and no musical theatre collection would be complete without this beautiful album. You will not be disappointed."
