Jimmy Smith contributes his soulful Hammond, with bass pedals on most tunes. Wes Montgomery adds quite a bit of the "double-note octave" melodic style he is known for. They are accompanied by only light drumming on most tracks. But on Milestones, they are more like the accompaniment to a full brass-based orchestra. That digression is a bit shocking -- led me to think there was a manufacturing error on the CD.
