CD Reviews

Jimmy Cliff's best 80's album.
ntcogley | REALITY | 08/23/1999
(4 out of 5 stars)

"1983's THE POWER AND THE GLORY is Cliff's best 80's album, and I've got them all. 9 solid tracks of positivity and energy. Often passed up because of the forgetful made for cassette cover. Check out the title track, love solution, and journey."
Sunshine in the Music
Gary Selikow | Great Kush | 04/24/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This 1983 album contains the smash hit Reggae Night, as well as another joyful tribute to Jamaica, `Sunshine In The Music'.
There are songs about equal rights like ` Piece of the Pie' and commentary of the world at the time like ` Power And The Glory': " Red China and Soviet Russia trying to keep the world under pressure...Power belongs unto the father. I don't know who can change this order." A warning against materialism in `American Dream' and his proud in love of his roots in `Roots Woman.'This is fantastic. I think Jimmy Cliff is as good as Bob Marley."
