CD Reviews

Openly Gay pop stars? About freaking time!

"I had heard a couple of Jim Verraros's songs on the internet and loved them, so I ordered the CD without a second thought. I was very pleased with nearly the entire collection. There is really only one song on the album that I don't enjoy. The rest are excellent. Very fun, extremely hot, sexy, beautiful music. I was a litle nervouse about how good it would be. I tend to be a harsher critic of artist who are in the family, I expect more. Jim delievered. You're not going to find a bunch of songs dealing with how hard it is to be gay, coming out, descrimination, yada, yada, yada. This music if simply fun, enjoyable, and celebrates being who you are and enjoying it, embrasing it, and flaunting it. Finally! Thank you Jim! Not only that, but the music is qualtiy. You can completely rock out to it. The slower, softer songs are equally as pleasing. Can't brag enough, and I can't wait to hear what Jim has in store for us next!"

"I just happened to be checking out Amazon a little while ago. I didnt know anything about Jim. About him being an openly gay singer or any of that, only that he'd been on American Idol. I do know however after listening to his cd. That he's got one more fan in me. I'm digging everything about this cd. From the first song "Move" to "I Want You and back to "Forbidden Love". It is plainly obvious that "J" has got what it takes to not only survive in the music biz, but to have a very successful and awesome career.

I wish more folks could have more backbone in the music business and just be up front about themselves (so to speak). It takes guts to do that and for that alone. I'm supporting Jim in his career in the music/acting business. Enough of that, get "Rollercoaster" it is a little different and all that. But take a listen or two and you'll be digging this CD and all it has to offer.

Best of luck, Jim in the future. I'm with you.

American Idol fans will love this CD

"I totally disagree with Leah Hoffman's review. She totally missed the mark and was also insulting. I'm sure Jim's deaf parents, although they can't hear the album, can read the lyrics. And I've read they support their son's choice to make a sexy album that fans call impressive, funky, strong, and Top 40. Additionally, it's nice to see an Idol do something that isn't safe and generic. Idol fans from Season 1 are now four years older. I think these fans can handle sexy lyrics. The songs on this album are so strong and Jim has grown so much as a singer. Many hits here. If youth can handle Madonna and Janet doing sexy lyrics, I'm SURE they can handle Jim. Leah, you need to look at the demographics of Idol. There are many gay fans, and these same gay fans love Jim for coming out and coming out with an album like THIS. Leah, if you're going to review an album, you need to make it fair. Not judgemental."
