"Open Hearts, is one of anggun soundtrack album for the movie with the same title. When i first knew that she will collaborate in such project, i except an impromptu last minute release type of quality because it is a soundtrack which is just to complete a movie.SUPRISINGLY, its not. This soundtrack is well crafted, well produced and its a well plan project waiting for someone to lend a voice on its track.which they did brilliantly choose anggun. The sound of the album is urban, fresh, pop, string instruments, and also even a raw tracks that highlight anggun voice with just a piano.I MUST admit that this album is my favourite album by anggun now.then followed others. If the outcome of this album is this great.I expect something similar or better for her 3rd album which is due to be release soon.
Open Hearts OST will appeal to everyone, i reckon everyone will enjoy this one.Its not a typical urban album. This album has IT.Every single track is special and well selected.Starting from the first track till the last one.which im sure u will replay the album again and again.i promise u that.1. Counting Down 3.45 (Jesper winge leisner, Niels Brinck )
an uplifting opening track, with the drums and the upbeat music. it tells how you reminisce your relationship with someone.how the first time you met them, how do you respond to the first move.what if u didnt respond to the first very move.would you be a different person now?what if u never met ur love ones.would u be what u are now."its funny when how coincidence rules, you could be at other place and life if u turn right, left or you just walk out ahead..." the writer ask us to think about that.Interesting lyrics.Great danceable "2 steps"tune.you'll love it!(5/5)2. Open Your Heart 3.27 ( Jesper winge leisner, Niels Brinck, Anggun )
the opening music of the song is simply haunting and fresh.i dunno.u have to listen to it yourself.its a great song with a great hook.the song tells us to open our heart to love someone to unexpected love that come to us or maybe an unexpected love.open our hearts and listen to our surrounding.open our hearts and love someone, everything.dont ignore your love sense.use it.make use it.dont be afraid to love someone.its a beautiful song.suitable with our deal with war and uncertainty right now.if those people can just stop and listen....to the message.(5/5)3. Little Things 4.29 (Jesper winge leisner, Niels Brinck )
This is one special track. The music speak for itself.it hook, the beat will make u want to listen to the song again and again. It tells about how lil things can be so important.how lil things can hurt you, can influence you and how lil things can be so precious.(5/5)4. Blue Satellite 3.44 (Jesper winge leisner, Niels Brinck )
this is happy mode.with a guitar plays the main role in this special tracks.its a sing-a-long song.melodic and can make u likes it from the very first listen.it tells about how special your relationship with ur love ones.how both of you need each other, how both of u connect to each other.its a lovely song with an uplifting bridge.i like the part when anggun hit the high notes.if u her fans u will know how special anggun voice when she hit the high notes :).(5/5)5. The End of a Story 4.42 ( Jesper winge leisner, Niels Brinck, Anggun )
okay, this is a serious song with a serious message of relationship.but the way the anggun deliver the song suit the music very well and set the mood of seriousness.eventho the theme talks about what you hope on a relationship and how far you want it to go. Eventho its serious.the music is well balance and crafted in such a way that you will end up puting this song in a special place in your heart.its an enjoyable song."whats about to begin, its the end of story...."(5/5)6. I'm Your Mirror 3.42 (Jesper winge leisner, Niels Brinck )
in this song you will notice some of eastern feel in it.just a bit tho cause the whole song still dominate by urban feel in it.there's also some 'aboriginal voices touch' layered in the chorus which makes the song even more interesting.the song tells about how special and important you are towards ur love ones just like a mirror, which can reflects all the love, passion to each other.its a beautiful song.this is a party song..danceable and happy-go-lucky mode.7. Pray 4.16 ( Jesper winge leisner, Niels Brinck, Anggun )
another deep sensual but DANCEABLE serious tune from the composer.with a beautiful lyrics by anggun and jesper.i like the song cause it sound complicated, mysterious, and upbeat.you can imagine how brilliant the video will be to interprate the song into visual."pray for life, pray for all love in the world.."its a positive song with a great message that carry hopes to each and every living elements in the world.it there's a remix for this song.i can imagine it could hit the dance charts.(5/5)8. I Wanna Hurt You 4.57 (Jesper winge leisner, Niels Brinck )
a dance tune with a fast speed composition with a touch of disco.which is interesting cause the song lyrics carry a serious, sad, deep message.anggun voice soar brilliantly which convey the song message very clearly.mad, sad, frustriation to the point where you can listen to a part where she sound almost singing while sobbing?i dunno, get the album and listen to yourself.the song really tease your anger and makes you become angry and deeply hurt.great song!(5/5)9. Naked Sleep 4.20 (Jesper winge leisner, Niels Brinck )
okay, after listening to all danceable tunes, this song is completely naked in its own meaning.the song is rawly just a piano with a simple key.i think niels want the song to be completely raw and "naked".the lyric written by jesper tells the longiness of someone you love.you want them to be closer, how deeply and badly u want them to be beside you.the composer wants to highlight anggun voice.its the main player in the track.which she deliver it brilliantly...and you feel like sucking every notes of it till u didnt realize the track has reach it last song.....and you of course will hit the "replay" button once again......(5/5)great album.an amazing production and well polish album by jesper, niels and anggun.notice how i end up every song with a high score?skeptical?believe me, thats the truth.im so satisfied with album.it worth every penny i spent on it.every track is a "single" material if u know what i mean.if you see this album at a record store.BUY..its anggun in a different perspective.
urban, stylish, hip and enjoyable album is knockin on your door.do u dare to open it?"
Short but Nice...

"I believe I have every single song that Anggun has done. Discovering her with a Soliday album song "Qui Sait" which was truly amazing that led me to buy both english and french versions of her other two cd's, Snow On The Sahara (Au nom De La Lune) and Chrysalis (Desirs Contraires) and now we have Open Hearts.I bought this CD way back in November of last year (2002) from Amazon.fr and was eager to listen to it. After first listening to it, I didn't really think too much of it because it really didn't match her previous albums. But then, when you listen to it a little more you begin to really appreciate it more as the songs really grow on you. Of all of the songs on the CD I believe "I'm Your Mirror" is probably the best and would catch on best here in the states, but I think that's hoping for a lot since Anggun has never been promoted properly here and that is a real shame. For those that are familiar with Anggun's sound, this album takes a turn to a more pop-oriented style which to me means that it is not as beautiful but more simplified without orchestra accompaniments. She still amazes me because I just love her voice and style which she brings forth in this more up-beat CD along with a mix of chant-rap which today's popular music has a lot of.If you love Anggun is it definitely worth the buy."
