"For 35 years I've been collecting Jerry Vale music. The jukebox singles were always hard to come by, only finding a 45 single now and then. Then WA-LA! Here's the ultimate collection of Jerry Vale singles all wrapped up in this wonderful collection titled "The Essential 50s Singles". Not only are some of his greatest hits part of this CD, but there's also a few surprises. "Tired Of Dreaming" is a dramatic song, showing off Vale's astounding voice range. "For You My Love", could almost be an operatic song for Jerry. Two songs are very Un-Vale-Like and very enjoyable, "Heaven Came Down To Earth", and "The Flame". "Heaven Came Down To Earth" is a swanky swing number with great orchestration, that Vale sings like only Vale can. Listening to "The Flame", you can picture 2 people sharing an ice creme soda at a 50's style Malt-Shop with it's romantic slow swinging beat. (It's my favorite song on this CD.) I recommend this CD for newcomers as well as collectors of Jerry Vale music."
