"I came across this record by chance and listened to it at the listening-post of my local record-store. When I put the CD in the player, I didn't know that it would become one of my favourite blues recordings. The sound quality is crystal clear, featuring both Ricks' blues bariton and his excellent acoustic guitar. He learned to play from the best masters of the craft -among them Rev. Gary Davis - and -although it's just him and his acoustic guitar- you will have problems finding a more varied, more soulful blues record because rhythms, moods and melodies keep changing."
