Album Description

Songs From Albion 2 is the second recording in a three CD series from the successful collaboration of duo Jeff Johnson and Brian Dunning. The music was inspired by the trilogy by best selling author, Stephen Lawhead. This second recording, released in 1994, has been the most popular of the three - several of the songs from the CD have been featured on Contemporary Celtic music samplers released by Windham Hill and Hearts of Space. Johnson and Dunnings Song of Albion series was also the catalyst for their Windham Hill debut, Music of Celtic Legends - The Bard & The Warrior.

Johnson at his BEST.

"I had heard some wonderful cuts by Jeff Johnson on "Echoes" & "Thistle and Shamrock", but was disappointed by his "St. Brendan" production. Then I heard this CD. These ARE the rich textural keyboards that produce the "haunting" effect mentioned in published reviews. Put this wonderful effort together with Brian Dunning's ethereal flute plus the occasional pipes and this is Celtic/New Age-ish music that floats gently in the clouds. Johnson and Dunning seem to know exactly "how much is enough", especially on the first three cuts of the album, which are wonderful to listen to on a long drive. Two thumbs up!!"

"I thought "Songs from Albion" really enhanced my reading experience... In fact, I performed a reading for some of my friends and played the CD's during the reading. They loved it so much they bought the CD's and the books! Vol 2 is my favorite, but all three are great! If you like good Keltic music these are for you; whether or not you read Stephen Lawhead's books."
