"I've always been a fan of Jaye P Morgan, and this album (CD) showcases some of her best work, including a few hits and standards. I didn't find one bad cut on this album! Fans should also check out Jaye P. Morgan's Website; this talented lady has had quite a career!"

Outstanding songs from Jaye P. Morgan

"I absolutely love to hear Jaye P. Morgan sing and it's sad that she simply isn't remembered as much as she deserves to be; but maybe that will change with continued sales of her CDs like this one. Jaye sings faultlessly on every last track here; and that's no surprise as she was a superlative songbird. The quality of the sound is excellent and the artwork is tastefully done.



There are a whopping twenty-eight songs on this CD and they are all equally wonderful; but of course I have my favorites as you will, too. "Should I" starts the CD with Jaye P. Morgan squarely in the spotlight; and that's quite all right by me! The music makes good use of the brass, piano and percussion, too. "Be Careful, It's My Heart" has Jaye P. Morgan swinging gently to make this very special; and she handles complex tempo and key changes like the pro she always was! "When My Dream Boat Comes Home" and "You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To" are very easy on the ear; Jaye P. massages the lyrics to these ballads to make them all her own and that's grand.



Jaye's interpretation of "Let's Fall in Love" is quite well done; and I really like "For All We Know" which is a most romantic ballad. "Did I Remember" stuns me with its natural beauty; and Jaye P. Morgan performs "Wasted Tears" and "Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries" with panache! I love it. In fact, "Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries" is easily one of my very favorite tunes on this album. "Operator 299" just plain sounds great; and "I Ain't Got the Man" is actually a very dynamic number despite the not so happy lyrics.



"That's All I Want from You" shines brighter than silver and gold combined when Jaye P. sings it; and "Life Was Made for Living" gets the royal treatment from Jaye P. Morgan. Her excellent diction enhances this number even more; and there's yet another gem in "The Longest Walk" with its marvelous melody that I could never tire of hearing. "You, You Romeo" has a very creative arrangement while "Stardust" is much more traditional with a chorus providing backup for Jaye. "Are You Lonesome Tonight" features Jaye P. Morgan singing particularly sweetly; and "Miss You" makes great use of the strings as Jaye P. Morgan sings this to perfection--and beyond! She never lets go of a single superfluous note!



"My Reputation" is brilliantly performed and "(It Took) One Kiss" couldn't have been done any better--this music is all THAT good. The CD closes with Jaye P. Morgan performing "Somebody Else Is Taking My Place" and Jaye P. does great justice to this number with her sophisticated phrasing.



Jaye P. Morgan could sing out the telephone book and I would be standing there, cheering and applauding because she was always that good. This is a marvelous CD for Jaye P. Morgan fans especially with the songs here that have never made it to CD before; newcomers to her artistry will find this to be an enjoyable starter CD."

"What a voice on this girl! Can't imagine why she stopped. I remember her from "The Gong Show," but nothing as far as singing. What a shame!!"
