On sax, you get Hilton Jefferson and Buddy Tate: on clarinet, Pee Wee Russell, Claude Hopkins on piano, and many others. The set is made up of 2 albums:"Things ain't what they used to be", and "years ago", both releasd originally under Hawkins' name.It's all loose relaxed swing music played perfectly by men who played this style most of their lives. Lots of good solos and unison riffing.If you're a fan of swing music or Coleman Hawkins, you'll want to include this in your collection."
