Dont walk away from this album
Nuisance | Miami | 02/12/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Back when R&B was R&B and not Pop music posing as R&B there was a talented trio that gave you a great single called Dont Walk Away. This trio fell under the radar even though the album that song was off of was pretty good. Our zombie mentality has caused a lot noteworthy artists that deserve support to fall off the map while we support these modern cornballs that deserve to be a distant memory. Now I know there are exceptions in R&B now but it is only a few artists that will give you great album after great album while back in the 90s there were plenty of artists that were known to give you good album after good album. Jade is one of those artists in the 90s that worthy of support. Jade To The Max and Jade To The Extreme are more rotational than 95% of the R&B albums that come out now.

Dont Walk Away was a great single that remind you of why the 90s will always be cherished: it was fun. The melodic beat and the nice vocals are a complementary pair. I Wanna Love You, Out With The Girls, I Want 'Cha Baby, and That Boy are neat songs that give the album strong replay value. One Woman, Give Me What I'm Missing and Looking For Mr. Do Right show that these ladies can hold their own with the slow grooves. Their rendition of the old classic Don't Ask My Neighbor is nice too. There are no throwaway tracks in my humble opinion.

Jade To The Max is the ideal album for anybody that loves 90s R&B and will cherish it over the fluff that passes for R&B now. Two thumbs up from me and while you're at it get acquainted with their second release, Jade To The Extreme.

Standouts: DONT WALK AWAY, I WANNA LOVE YOU, THAT BOY, ONE WOMAN, LOOKING FOR MR. DO RIGHT, GIVE ME WHAT IM MISSING and DONT ASK MY NEIGHBOR."

"When I saw that Amazon had Jade's debut album on CD, I had to buy it. I had it on cassette originally but no longer have any thing to play the cassette on. Anyway, Jade was one of my favorite groups during the 90's when girl groups like SWV, TLC, Xscape, Black Girl, Brownstone, and Zhane hit the charts. My favorites on the album are "I Wanna Love You" , "Don't Walk Away", and "Looking for Mr. Do Right". The singers have excellent harmony and can really sing! The songs are really catchy! I was sorry that they split up because I thought they were one of the better girl groups."
