Synopsis

Album Description
The first recording on the new Richards, Fowkes and Co. organ in Deerfield, Massachusetts, modeled on and inspired by instruments that Bach would have used. First recording by Lynn Edwards Butler, noted organologist and music historian. Butler, a native of Vancouver, BC, is an organist and harpsichordist with a special interest in the music of the Baroque. She is the co-founder of the Westfield Center for Early Keyboard Studies, and an authority on eighteenth-century organ building in Germany. She writes for scholarly publications, and concertizes widely. This program of Bach?s music is organized around the festival chorales of the liturgical year. The sixteen-page booklet is in full color and includes liner notes by noted musicologist Gregory Butler.
