Astounding late 80s electronic alternative dance music

"I don't know how this band didn't get any airplay on the new wave station in New York back at the end of the 80s. They offered a fresh take on the New Order formula, with a touch of an industrial edge at times or a dark goth electronic sound like Clan of Xymox, with melodic female vocals, harmonies and pulsing bass lines that are more reminiscent of bands like Erasure(!). Their albums segued into the early 90s techno and ambient sounds wonderfully. They released 4 albums (1987, 1989, 1991, 1993), all of which are included here, along with a 5th disc called "The Singles Collection", which is just a collection of remixes from their 1991 and 1993 CDs. The band even does a pretty faithful cover of Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart," and interesting experience with a female vocalist. Only thing that could have made this fairly exhaustive collection of their catalog even more complete would have been to add all the 12" mixes from their first two albums as bonus tracks on the original CDs.
