Synopsis

Album Description
This is a 2 disc collection that brings together tracks from 2 specific occasions in the life of The Incredible String Band. The Chelsea Sessions, 1967 is a collection of recently rediscovered ISB demos that were recorded slightly before 5000 Spirits Or The Layers Of An Onion in 1968. Certain songs appeared on this album or on the later Wee Tam & The Big Huge. Disc 2 is a collection of live material recorded during a Canadian tour from 1972. Notable is the inclusion of the track, 'Old Buccaneer' where Robin Williamson sings a different set of lyrics to that of the version recorded for the No Ruinous Feud album. The last track 'Ithkos' is from the band's final BBC in-concert broadcast in June 1974. The rest of the tracks are what ISB fans might expect, a few older numbers and a couple of items from the then unreleased No Ruinous Feud. A live version of 'Lighthouse Keeper' is also a welcome inclusion. The versions here were recorded in 1974, and Robin left the band soon after, effectively causing the group to split at this time.
