Product Description
Formed in 2005 to perform the idiosyncratic (and underplayed) compositions of Steve Lacy, Josh Sinton (baritone saxophone), Kirk Knuffke (trumpet), Reuben Radding (bass) and Tomas Fujiwara (drums), rehearsed and refined a handful of Lacy's tunes for well over a year before playing their first show. Using these pieces as a starting point, the group has blossomed into a dynamic and charismatic band. Their eponymous debut was named "Best Debut of 2008" by the Village Voice Critics' Poll. Ideal Bread's music is an exciting demonstration of the possibilities of interpretation and improvisation.
