Album Description

Five Musicians from four continents come together as HourGlass. Working sometimes in collaboration with composer Steve Sanford, and elsewhere through their own improvisations, HourGlass has created new interpretations of Occitan folk songs, medieval cantigas, seguidillas and new settings of poems by Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz for their debut CD.

the labor of love these musicians put into researching, learning and interpreting these
gorgeous love songs from centuries long ago... Plus the fact that they are all superb
musicians, not just ethnomusicologists. Knowledge plus heart equals SOUL. I look forward to
whatever their next project will be. Hourglass has soul."
