Synopsis

Album Description
Horace Silver was one of the first and most important pioneers of the "hard bop" style of jazz in the early '50s, a flexible style that incorporated elements of BeBop, R&B and gospel music. This Intro includes key tracks recorded between 1952 and 1955 when he was one of the most sought after pianists in jazz music. We find him in a trio format with Curley Russell and Art Blakey, and with his Jazz Messengers that included Kenny Dorham, Hank Mobley and Blakey.
