Thirst Quencher just makes you want more

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is the first of Ho'okena's albums. Ho'okena means thirst quenching in Hawaiian. Definitely award winning performances. If you like the Brothers Cazimero, but think they are a little slow, or like the sounds of their own voices a bit too much, try Ho'okena. I find it always picks me up to listen to it. The liner has wonderful translations. Napo'ona Mahina is my favorite. It tells of the sadness of watching the moonset into the sea off Ka'ena on 'Ohau's north shore. And the Kaimuki Hula is a classic. If you like this album, go for Na Kai 'Ewalu, Ho'okamaha'o, Ho'okena 5 and then, for Christmas, their Home for the Holidays."
