CD Reviews"Author of Pain" is painless electro-industrial. skarecreau | San Francisco, CA USA | 12/06/2001 (3 out of 5 stars) "Jesse McClear's Heavy Water Factory is an ambitious electro-industrial project. With a little help from Battery's Maria Azevedo and Shawn Brice and World of Hurt's Scott Hixson, he lays down eighteen tracks of non-aggressive, moody, sample-laden music that, while of a high quality, fails to leave a lasting impression on my mind. Surely, there are good songs on this album, but none of them stand out from the rest of the pack. Perhaps some of the other HWF releases are more dramatic...
(On a side note to those who've seen it, doesn't the cover design look like a "facehugger" from "Aliens" wrapped around the Federation insignia from "Star Trek"? Just an observation...)" |
