Nathan | New Jersey, USA | 10/12/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "Steve Wynn is at his best when collaborating with others (the BRILLIANT Danny and Dusty with Long Ryders and Green of Red members is the first example of this) over a short period of time when they come together with song ideas but no songs and just bang them out over a weekend. This is one of the best examples of that style of recording. You get the guitars, drums, bass and vocals of a group of folks just having fun with some great garage rock-n-roll.When Steve has his problems is on records like Sweetness and Light -- he tries to evoke feelings with prodcution instead of music. AVOID HIM IN THESE CASES.But when the music and the musicians are the whole deal, like with this record, there is no garage band leader better than Steve Wynn."
