"First I can not say enough good things about this recording. E Power Biggs is the best organist since Bach himself and he truly does justice to Bachs genius. As anyone whom has read regarding my reviews that deal with Bach know that I consider him to be best composer for the organ. Truly stupendous music is music that can be listened to over and over and yet one finds something new each time one listens to it. Bachs music also has a very deep spiritual meaning for me (being protestant) and I feel like when I listen to it I am in Sunday mass. This recording is not to be missed and Biggs is such a tremendous organist that all other recordings (after his) feel like they try to emulate his sound."

"E. Power Biggs does a good job performing these amazing Preludes and Fugues. Not as well known to the novice listener as Bach's great G minor fugues, Toccata and Fugue in D minor and Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor. Never the less, these are impressive works of art. If there is Bach music that you sense is truly personal expression, I think Bach's organ works are it. These works were written for the organ by a guy who loved to play the organ. Amazing stuff.
