Album Description

Canadian pressing of the 1986 original release, is the acts first LP which shows a band unsure whether to follow R.E.M.'s folky lead or post-punk's dreamy abstraction. Fortunately, the jangly guitars and harmonies win out for a pleasing, though unspectacular, debut. Highlights include the single 'Misunderstanding', as well as 'Love Comes Around' and 'A Dream (About You)'. EMI. 2005.

"This album, actually called 'September Bowl of Green', is a nice collection of various cuts from what was an up-and-coming band. Hard-edged in spots, it also showed signs of softness, especially in their instrumentals. Set the standard for their other albums."
