CD Reviews

Awsome Raw Rock-n-Roll 70's style

"This cd showcases Granicus as a versitile band that can kick it hard and also go to an almost classical piece with "Twilight", "Paradise" will make you think that Axel Rose must have heard this album, "Cleveland Ohio" is a great cut that pokes fun at the bands home town, "Nightmare" is a classic as are "Bad Talk", "America" and the rest of the album. I recommend this to everyone that yearns for "real" rock. Listen to the players and the music and not the production. Although it wasnt produced well the band still manages to shine despite the pristine sound from RCA. Wayne Anderson's guitar work is second to none, Dale Bedford drives the beat with killer bass licks, Al Pinell rounds out the sound with innovative rythym guitar, and Joe Battaglia anchors the whole deal with solid, tasteful drumming. Woody Leffels falsetto to bass register vocals and honest lyrics will remind you of a "raw" Robert Plant in his younger days."

"I would have never, and I mean never heard of this band if it weren't for that big ol' book, 'The Encyclopedia Of Heavy Metal'. They were included in that book, so I managed to find a used copy somwhere and I bought it. It's real hard rock, the way it was meant to be played. It's raw, ratty, and in-your-face. I don't understand why they only released this one album. It's a lot better than Led Zeppelin, and that band acheived so much success. This is a real 70's underground classic."

"I started listening to this album in the early 80's. This was one of the best bands that was out in its day. This album rocks from the beginning to the end. Unfortunately there are very few people that have ever listened to this band. They were definately before their time. If you want some good sounding rock music that transends the times better than you or I will then you need to invest in this album."
