CD Reviews

An amazing update of the new wave classic.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"It's funny that this should come out as my tastes are turning to synth-pop and trance. If you don't know already, this is a trance cover of the classic dark new wave ballad "Ghosts" by Japan. Caned by Armin Van Buuren and his comrades, "Ghosts" is simply a superb uplifting trance remix of what was originally a maudlin, brooding New Romantic jam. When the vocals come in, just check the reactions of the old-heads in the club crowd who recognize the original. Pick this one up, and then get Japan's _Tin Drum_ as a reference point."
Beautiful Trance Sounds

"To think, I first heard a short sample of the Vincent de Moor remix due to it being on Konami's DDRMAX dancing game. I very quickly fell in love with the sound, as it managed to bring in both a sound similar to Delerium, and crossing it with a really nice dance beat. So, after a period of playing, I did some looking around, and finally had a chance to listen to more than just the minute-and-a-half edit used in the game, and realized just how much better the song is - and then I discovered the other mixes. I can sit and listen to one mix after another, and enjoy them all.The variety of mixes make certain that you'll find one to fit your mood, with the sound varying between stronger dance beats, to a more etherial sound. Definitely a single worth having, and I'm saddened that the song never really made an appearance in the public eye, as it is easily of better quality then most of what gets airplay today."
