Pure Hawaiian music-no synthesizers, no strings. Gabby's voice is great throughout with his signature falsetto and outstanding guitar playing. It seems like an audition, since Gabby slugs the beginning of each song with the title and take number. I read somewhere that Dave Guard of the Kingston Trio (a native Hawaiian and big Gabby fan) shopped this to major labels on the mainland with no success. It's hard to believe this just sat around until the late 70s to be issued. Every Hawaiian music fan should own a copy of this cd. A truly great hawaiian album!!! These tapes remained unissued until 1978, when they came out as a double LP. Now here they are in digital form, and it sure does sound sweet!
