The Front.......
Jason M. Blenner | Cleveland' Oh | 08/15/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This band was first exposed to the public on a variety show that was a battle of the bands format. The Front was the first winner with the song Fire. They were awarded a contract on CBS and a video that was played both on Headbangers Ball and 120 Minutes this may of caused people to lose this band in the shuffle of the late 80s. The song Sister Moon had more funk then metal and Violent World really showed the bands rock sound. Le Motions Bass lines were deep rich and led the song in the alternative direction. Lead singer Anthony did have his Morrison Moments but at times he clearly out sung the rock god!!! The bands promise and orginal sound clearly was lost by metal and devoured by grunge. The two brothers later were in Bakers Pink. I great album but a bizzare album cover of androgny many years before Manson would make it mainstream."
What happened to this band?

"I picked this one up after hearing the song 'Fire'. The singer has a little bit of Jim Morrison or Ian Asbury sound to his voice. As far as the music, it was different from the heavy metal that was out at this time (1989) with many of the songs being groove oriented with some heavy bass lines and not a lot of guitar soloing. If you can find this one, pick it up. There are at least eight songs that I still listen to, and I picked it up when it first came out in 1989. It will give you a taste of something different that was out there at a time when all heavy metal bands were sounding the same."
Excellent disc

"If you like The Cult, you'll like this one. Can be picked-up dirt cheap on-line...well worth it."
