CD Reviews

A new band to my ears, and they are really good!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I found the LP in a thrift shop recently. It has all of the songs as listed above. When the economy improves, I'm going to buy it on CD! Free Beer is a combination of folk rock and country, and the music is real smooth.

"Queen Of The Purple Sage" is one of the album's highlights. I read above that Lou Christie was a co-writer of the song (the album only credits Christie - Herbert), but there is no credit substantiating his singing background vocals on the tune. The lead vocal from band member Robert Caleb Potter is perfect.

"Nouveau Chapeau" is a great blend of original and cover songs ("Going Away" by Bruce "Utah" Phillips and "I've Just Seen A Face" by Lennon-McCartney also included). I'm really glad I took a chance on this one. It paid off."
