Fred Haring's second album is a significant step forward in his musical development. With a couple more years of living under his belt, he offers an updated take on this plane of human existence. It's a solid blend of love songs and ponderings on gratitude, celebrity and its aftermath, and the ability of mere mortals to have an impact in this increasingly fuzzy world. Pulling it all together was producer Dan Baird, former frontman for The Georgia Satellites.

Thought-provoking...nice range

"I bought his first album a couple years ago and enjoyed it. The vocals were a little rough, but I appreciated the quality of the songs and the spirit of hope that underlies even his darker tunes. This new album is a big step up. The vocals are much stronger, the band is tight...and the songs are still very solid. My favorite is "Prayer for Evan Dando"...with its almost haunting quality. Other especially nice moments: "Changing Stations" and "Dumpsville" (the hidden track). This is a fine album. If you like singer-songwriters with a little "kick", it's a great investment."
