CD Reviews

Great voice, good choices
Jorge Ruiz | San Antonio, TX | 08/20/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)

"It's about time Frankie Negron let it all hang out by singing something different! I love salsa, don't get me wrong, but Frankie's voice just sounds good doing other kinds of music too. I like variety and I was beginning to think that there wasn't anything more to expect from Frankie. Glad he surprised me. Great voice, great musical choices. The best song yet was the reggae/bolero fusion. Not bad. Great album to have in a collection."
Could be better

"This album entittled unexpected was anything but unexpected to me. I expected Frankie Negron to drop this album, but I hoped he would hit harder with this one. The album's best song was the incredibly arranged "Por Descuido", also songs like "Hasta Que te Enamores" and "Por Nada En El Mundo" are worth listening to as well. I think there are too many ballads on this album, and not enough salsa. I don't think Frankie's voice was at 100% in this album, as you can clearly hear in the classic "Sombras Nada Mas.""
Everything you could want in one HOT cd!

"Frankie Negron never fails to amaze me. Just when I thought he couldn't get any better, he puts together a cd like this one! It has everything anyone could want from Latin music. Pumped up dance tunes, smooth, soulful balladas, and the best yet--musical blasts from the past done so well that it secures him a place in Latin music's history. A must buy for the die hard Latin music lover and a great place to start for those wanting to know what all the hype is over this "Latin music thang"."
