"You'll find it cheaper under the disc's other entry, John Foulds: Le Cabaret; April-England; Pasquinade; Etc., and thereunder you will find my review as well. "Pasquinade No. 2" and "Three Mantras" were recording premieres, in 1993. Since then, Warner has issued new versions of "Three Mantras" and "April-England" by Sakari Oramo (John Foulds: Three Mantras and John Foulds: Dynamic Triptych; Music-Pictures III). I have Oramo's disc with the Three Mantras and, while the interpretive merits are shared, the more spacious sonics give a clear edge to Oramo in such lush and powerful music. TT on that Warner disc is also more generous (78-minutes against Lyrita's 61). So first choice must go to Oramo-Warner, limiting the interest of the earlier Lyrita release to the serious Foulds collector. See my reviews for more details."
