"Although I'm biased, as the songwriter of "Cross Country," track 9, on the late Floyd Cramer's CD "Forever
Floyd Cramer," I remember the first time I heard both my song and the entire CD, back in 1989.As best as I remember, this was Floyd's first release after leaving RCA, and if memory serves me well, the first
time Floyd had veto power and complete artistic control. Although the recording is now out of print, used copies
are still available and legal to buy. Long-time Cramer fans, as well as folks who may not be aware that Floyd played piano on many of the early
Sun Records, including Elvis Presley, and later for Presley on RCA, should enjoy the breadth of variety and the
orchestration on this CD. Track 11, "Secure For the Night" was written by Mel Holt, co-founder of SOR (Step One Records)
and track 12, "Last Call For Love," written by Floyd, showcases his sense of simple yet elegant piano playing,
while stretching himself, stylistically, in a pleasant and surprising way.I applaud Amazon.com for checking the legal status of SOR, and offering only used copies of "Forever Floyd Cramaer."
