Flight Theory was formed by two Christian musicians who have played live in both a worship setting as well as in secular rock bands over the years. The initial members (Todd and Mark) have played music in ministry separately and together for many years. The collaboration is unique in that both members have professional home studios to write and record music. They tranfer ideas, recorded tracks, and mastered material via the internet through a ftp server. Technology has allowed these artists to collaborate without ever being in the same room together. This is important since Mark lives in Chandler, Arizona and Todd lives in Prescott, Arizona which is approximately 123 miles apart and at least a two hour drive one way. The first CD "First Flight" is centered around a Galatians 5:22-23 Fruit of the Spirit theme. Flight Theory incorporates strong story telling into the music which leaves the listener thinking. The music is guitar based and although not Heavy Metal sounding there is a strong melodic overdriven tube amp sound. The musical content emphasizes rich harmonies and harmonic overtones.
