Amazon.com FFH built its foundation on an aggressive tour schedule, a commitment to sweet-sounding melodies, and a constant dedication to ministry. All three elements come to play on Have I Ever Told You, the group's third major-label release. They don't venture far into new musical territory, but FFH know what they do best: build concise pop around well-crafted harmonies. The opener, "Watching over Me," and the praise-and-worship anthem "We Sing Alleluia" capture this essence well. Producers Scott Williamson and David Hamilton don't mess with a good thing, though they do employ more keyboards and strings here than on previous FFH releases. The upbeat and playful "Astronaut" and the whimsical "Millionaire" are certainly changes of pace as well. But overall it's the tight singing arrangements and lyrics centered on one's relationship to God that placed FFH on the national stage, and they continue admirably in that vein on this pleasing release. --Michael Lyttle 1. CD ReviewsThe third time's the charm! 08/29/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "Very rarely does a band sound better than ever on their third album, but FFH has done just that with their new CD, Have I Ever Told You. Although both of their first two albums were great, their second (Found A Place) didn't really sound any different from their first (I Want To Be Like You). This time, they took a few more risks and came out with an edgier, more produced sound. But don't worry, old-school fans will not be disappointed -- HIETY is filled with the same tight harmonies and praiseful lyrics as are the first two CD's. But they can expect to be pleasantly surprised throughout the CD. Some of the songs that stand out are "We Sing Alleluia", a powerful worship song backed up by a choir; "Millionaire", which has an acoustic folk sound; the moving ballad "Before It Was Said", which features a string orchestra; and the fun-filled "Astronauts", an energized rocker with a few touches of electronica. You won't find any filler on this CD; each song has something special. The lyrics are very uplifting and powerful, as usual. The bottom line: HIETY is definitely FFH's best CD yet, which is saying a lot considering how good the first two were. I highly recommend this one whether you are already a fan of FFH or have not yet discovered their music." Every song on the CD is great, but my favorites are "Open Up the Sky" and "On My Cross." "On My Cross" actually caused me to cry tears of gratitude at the depth and scope of God's love. God will use the music here to challenge you, encourage you, and draw you to Him. If you are looking for great Christian music, buy it. You will not be dissapointed, especially if you are an FFH fan.God loves you!"
