CD Reviews

Such a pity that nobody reviews this

"I'm reviewing this disc because just now I suddenly felt urged to listen to it, especially compositions by Lili Boulanger. I'll not say much about her, because she has remained a mystery to me, a mystery that I wish not to unearth. I just prefer looking at her through the veil of her music, as if looking at God through His words. I hope this doesn't offend, but it's my real feeling for her music, especially Psalm 130, which almost summons me to kneel down and pray. It is like the voice of an angel, clad in white, mingled with the threat of infernal fire, whose image one can almost imagine so vividly that, every time I decided to listen to this disc, I shudder at its power. Of course, this is a purely personal, and perhaps quite exaggerated, feeling, but I'd like to share with all of you who's interested in Lili Boulanger."
Expressiveness in sum grade!

"Infinitely sad and beautiful, Faure' s Requiem still stands out as one the most emotive intense and lyric Requiem ever composed.

This version, conducted by Nadia Boulanger, owns a supreme refinement, as well as an incandescent lyricism and radiant expressiveness.

Offertoire and the Agnus Dei are possibly the highest pinnacles along the work.

Don't let this CD passes in front of you. Go for it as soon as you can.

A sumptuous masterpiece!
