Album Description
This is the first release with the Munich Chamber Orchestra under the baton of its youthful and energetic new artistic director Alexander Liebreich, one of the most interesting and versatile conductors of his generation. Fresh and stylistically informed performances captured on this sonically-striking recording. The album couples two Haydn symphonies from the 1760s and 70s with a work in identical instrumentation by Korean composer Isang Yun, written in 1987, and is consistent with the MCO programming mantra to juxtapose classical and contemporary works.
