CD Reviews

Dido made me do it

"I admit it: I discovered Faithless after hearing Dido's "No Angel" and having been completely blown away by Rollo and Sister Bliss' producing of "Take My Hand". Having lived in Venezuela now for the past 8+ years, its a bit hard to find a good record shop with decent music! Anyway, thanks to Dido, now I'm hip to the twist! I bought this CD just recently; the second remix CD was actually what caught my attention (Paul Van Dyk, N.O.W., etc.). I was a bit skeptical, though (how can you top "Reverence" !?), but what a pleasant surprise this turned out to be! "Bring My Family Back", "Postcards", "Take the Long Way Home", "God Is a DJ", "Hem of His Garment" (with Dido) and "Killer's Lullaby" are all brillant tracks! I can't stop listening to this disc! You can really tell how the band has progressed since "Reverence". I have see other reviews panning the remix CD but I don't agree...take the remix CD out to the party and then put the other one on when you are chillin' back home. Noteworthy remixes are: Killer's Lullaby [Nightmares on Wax Mix], Bring My Family Back [Paul Van Dyk Mix], Postcards [Rewritten Mix]and of course, God Is a DJ (Yes He Is). These discs are the best argument I can find to support the "God is a DJ" theory. If He is, then His archangels must be named Rollo, Sister Bliss, Maxi Jazz, Jaime and Pauline.I'll be looking forward to the next album!"
