"Fairport Convention conducts a Six Week Annual Winter Tour of England through February/March. These Two CD's Document one night of the 2002 Winter Tour at The Anvil Theatre,Basingstoke, England and Recorded on February 23, 2002.

This Show features the Current Line-Up of fine Players; Simon Nicol: Vocals & Guitars, Dave Pegg: Bass Guitar, Mandolin & Vocals, Ric Sanders: Violin, Chris Leslie: Vocals, Bouzouki, Violin & Mandolin, Gerry Conway; drums & Percussion Devices.

This Show Features Nine Selections from their then Current CD "XXXV", and the Band features Anna Ryder on a few Numbers, (that's her voice on: "The Crowd"). All your Fairport Faves are Here such as: "Crazy Man Michael","Walk Awhile" & "Matty Groves". But of course there are a few surprises mixed in as well, and Believe it or Don't, there is even a "Drum Solo" (Let There Be Drums).

What makes "On The Ledge" a Keeper is that the Band was Captured Live on One of their Very Best Nights, all Song Versions on these Disk's Surpass the Studio Versions with AMAZING PLAYING & SPOT-ON VOCALS. That said, the Sound Quality of these Two Disks is Fantastic as Well. This is one of the Best Live Recordings I have heard in quite some while.
