Released in May 2009 and following their 2005 effort 'Set The World On Fire', 'Pound For Pound' saw Extrema going back to its thrash metal roots, displayed in 13 powerful tracks which have been described as some of the best ever written by a band active in the scene since 1986 and proudly reinforced by a brand-new energy which opened them doors to new audiences in every corner of the world. Produced and mixed by Riccardo "Paso" Pasini at Studio 73 in Ravenna, Italy (Ephel Duat, Slowmotion Apocalypse, Rumors Of Gehenna, Handful Of Hate), 'Pound For Pound' collects 13 tracks of groovy thrash metal with plenty of attitude, including a stunning version of Kiss' classic 'Deuce' and a very special guest appearance by Page Hamilton, leader of the post-core legend Helmet. Artwork duties were handled by Nerve Design (Nile, Vision Divine, Threshold, Legion Of The Damned). The special edition of the album will be released May 17th 2010 on Scarlet Records and it will contain 4 new tracks, consisting of 3 live songs recorded during the band's latest club tour and a stunning cover version of Venom's 'Black Metal'.
