Flawless

"For technical mastery and seamless execution, Evelyn Glenie has no peer in percussion. Underappreciated is her tremendous athletic ability realized in an infinity of strokes without the performance decay that one would expect of merely human muscles. While all the selections on these generous disks are worthy, their sequencing sometimes seems irrational: moods, styles, and genre are strangely mixed. Most of the recordings are excellent, but a few lack the finesse of tonality necessary to catch her subtle variations.If possible, see her in person: she is also a great dramatist who understands silence as well as tone."
