They Did It Again!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Enuff Z'Nuff haven't released a single album that's been worthy of less than five stars and that's quite a feat for a band with eleven albums! Their latest release, "Welcome To Blue Island" is no exception. "Z Overture" explodes into "Saturday" which has been stuck in my head for months now and that's not a bad thing! "Sanibel Island" is equally catchy. This album has been in constant rotation on my car c.d. player this summer for the various road trips that I've been taking as it is THE definitive summer C.D. There's not a throw away track on it! "Welcome To Blue Island" signals a return to EZN's harder rocking stuff. Don't get me wrong, their mellower stuff is equally brilliant. Guitarist, Johnny Monaco unleashes some savage shreds on this new release.
EZN have been touring this summer, but without vocalist Donnie Vie who is living in Los Angeles and persuing a solo career. I saw EZN live in support of their "TEN" album a couple of years back and I can't imagine them without Donnie. In my opinion, he has one of the most definitive voices in rock n' roll.
In any event, "Welcome To Blue Island" is pure art and perfection and even if you can't see Donnie on tour with the band, he definitely ROCKS the album!!!"
