"I am the composer of one of the pieces on this recording, but feel it might be helpful to know a little more about the music and the ensemble. Ensemble Capriccio is a string trio, an ensemble with relatively little repertoire. All three works were commissioned by EC to expand that repertoire. The violinist (Min) and cellist (Fisher) are members of the Minnesota Orchestra; the violist (Konkol) teaches at the University of Minnesota. The recording quality is at an audiophile level -- Steve Barnett and Preston Smith are the producer and recording engineer. In the last movement of my work, the music is incredibly quiet -- the recording captures this so subtly that you may not hear the ending of the music. I give the recording 4 stars because it would just be wrong to rate your own music 5 stars -- we're all from Minnesota!"
